World e-Sports Masters in Hangzhou has come to an end with mTw beating mousesports 2:1 in the grand final.
The grand final at World e-Sports Masters ended just moments ago, mTw defeated mousesports after a very intense match, going all the way to the last map. The Danes had improved their pistol-rounds compared to Global Challenge in Dubai and managed to four of them, out of a total six.
The final started out on dust2, with mTw starting as terrorists. whimp yesterday stated that he expected to counter mousesports very well, which the Danes managed to do just fine as terrorists, securing a 10:5 lead after the first half. The Danes managed to build up a solid lead, which the Germans then managed to catch up on. It all came down to cyx versus three mTw members, but cyx’s PC blacked out, making it easy for mTw to eliminate the last standing German to win dust2 with 16:14.
Moving on to the second map inferno, a map mTw have been playing very well on during the 2008 season. The first half was very even, the team switched taking rounds, and an even half resulted in a close first half, 8:7 in favor of mTw. As CT mTw should lock down the bombspots and with a roaming Sunde, the Danes kept the match alive. But Sunde could not win the entire match on his own and mousesports several times turned 3v5 into winning the round. This lead to a mousesports win 16:13 on inferno.
The last and all deciding map should be nuke, a map mTw had been struggling on for some time. The Germans got to start out as defenders, with mTw shredding the CT defense apart. A hard hitting mTw won the first half solid with 11:4. The Danes as CT did not start out as they could have hoped for, as mousesports won the pistol-round. mTw then strikes back by winning the second round, forcing mousesports to eco. From this point on, the match had mTw written all over it. The Danes secured the last needed rounds to win 16:7 on nuke and 2:1 overall.
